From Diagnosis to KURK: Trent's Story Featured in
Menβs Health Australia

In 2012, our co-founder Trent Scanlen was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
At the time, he was a gym owner, philanthropist, and experienced entrepreneur. But as Menβs Health Australia put it, this moment βwould change the course of his life and reorient his attitude towards his health.β
Trentβs cancer diagnosis became the catalyst for something biggerβboth personally and professionally. With the support of his friend and now co-founder, Dr Harry Weisinger, who had survived the same disease years earlier, Trent began to reassess everything: from the medications he was taking to his long-term approach to pain, inflammation, and recovery.
βI went on a deep dive about how I could get off some of these drugs,β Trent told Menβs Health. βWhat Iβve seen with the medical communityβwhen I told people what we were doing [with curcumin]βthere was a nod. Theyβre like, βYeah, we know thereβs some good stuff there.ββ
During treatment, Trent and Harry began researching plant science, focusing on curcumin and its emerging potential as a natural anti-inflammatory. The result was a business plan drafted from a hospital bedβone that would become KURK, a fast-absorbing, liquid curcumin solution powered by Micelle+ technology.

What makes KURK different?
βMost people have inflammation in some form,β Trent explained. βThey might call it calcification or something else, but thatβs when inflammation is actually attacking the tissue. We built KURK to help manage thatβnaturally and effectively.β
By developing a formulation that delivers 185x better absorption than standard turmeric supplements, Trent and Harry set out to solve a widespread problem with a high-quality, science-led solution.
Today, KURK is trusted by athletes, medical professionals, and everyday people managing chronic pain, arthritis, fatigue, and inflammation. And behind it all is a story rooted in lived experience, deep research, and a shared commitment to better health.
Weβre proud to see Trentβs journey featured in Menβs Health Australia this month in the feature article:Β Β
